Coasteering is fast becoming a favourite adventure activity for those who love the great outdoors, exploring where the land meets the sea using different skill's including, swimming, climbing and jumping into the water. You will wear a full 5mm winter wetsuit & neoprene socks to keep you warm, protective gloves, helmet and bouyancy aid to keep you safe. Guides will be with you at all times to ensure your safety and enjoyment.
Come and explore the famous Purbeck coastline on a fabulous coasteering session for individuals, groups and families. Wild swimming through caves, jumping from rocks and scrambling along the coastline is an exhilarating and fun way to get up close to the base of the cliffs and into the water in this unique setting.

Sessions are all inclusive. You will get personalized service, the use of our quality equipment, (5mm warm winter wetsuits, wetsuit socks, protective gloves, helmets and Buoyancy Aids) and a guide trained inline with the National Coasteering charter. A guided session is the best way to try out the sport in the knowledge that your safety is taken care of, our guides have the experience of reading the water currents and tides to keep you safe, whilst taking you to the best spots and showing you the wildlife and sealife inhabiting this area of outstanding natural beauty. We also have group discounts if you are looking to organise a bespoke session catered to your own specific requirements and needs.
Unless otherwise stated we will meet at Dancing Ledge car park Dunford Drove in Langton Matravers, the car park is at the end of the gravel track (not Langton House) there will be a 20 minute walk in and out to the location & changing will be in the great outdoors. Click Here To See Map Half day sessions run from 09.30-12.30 or 13.30-16.30. Please allow enough time for your journey and arrive 15 minutes prior to ensure a prompt start, as we cannot hold the session for latecomers.
You can park in the Dancing Ledge car park but spaces are limited, however there is plenty of parking in the village.
Our consent forms state that you must be able to swim a minimum of 50 meters whilst wearing a Buoyancy Aid, your Buoyancy Aid will be properly fitted to you and are mandatory on all sessions, please be assured that we take every precaution to minimize risks and provide a safe and enjoyable experience.
You will need to bring robust footwear (old running trainers are ideal), bathing suits or shorts can be worn underneath our wetsuits, please bring board shorts or similar to wear over the top, bring sunscreen, a change of clothes, a towel and something to eat and drink.
The majority of our trips consist of beginners or those who have tried coasteering once or twice, however please bear in mind that this is a very wet activity and it helps if you are confident in the water. All sessions will commence with a safety briefing and an introduction to the equipment. Our guides are on hand throughout the session to help you and ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience with us.
We hold an AALA licence which allows us to take under 18's without parents present. The minimum age for our open sessions is 16, we don't set a maximum age limit but please remember this is a physical activity, if you are concerned about your level of fitness feel free to call us to discuss your options or we can run bespoke sessions subject to availability catered to your specific requirements, these are ideal for larger groups, under 16's or families with children.
We have yet to encounter a problem as we have a wide range of kit and our sizes range from x-small up to x-large, if weight and size are an issue for you please contact us to discuss this so that we can reassure you.
Pre booking is essential as spaces are limited, we would recommend you make your reservations as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Holidays and weekends book up quickly, so be sure to book in advance. Anytime! Our main season runs from February - November as winds can sometimes be brutal past then but we have taken out keen customers in December before, the winter tends to bring more challenging conditions for those looking to push themselves! Our guides favour the autumn with calm, glassy waters, no motor boats, and fewer crowds. Springtime brings the warmer climate and colourful wildflowers and array of wildlife. Summer is our busiest time of year, with the warmer sea temperature you can work up to a good swim in the water after your session. We run trips year round, there's a season to suit everyone!
Whilst every effort is made to ensure activities go ahead as scheduled, in certain circumstances where the weather would deem the activity to be unsafe we may have to cancel sessions last minute or change venue, we would let you know before 7am in the morning so please ensure you do provide a contact number we can reach you on the day, however we would endeavour to let you know the day before where possible.
If your activity is canceled you will be offered a full refund or another booking on a different date. In the event of cancelation by Studland Sea School we will not be liable for reimbursement of travel or associated cost's incurred.
